Fletchanator's
comment: Trytan were a Chicago-based Christian hard rock band who released two albums - Celestial Messenger in 1987 and this one - before disbanding in the early 90s. Apparently frontman Lary Dean is a church minister these days, calling himself an "extreme pastor" and renouncing his past "sinful" rock'n'roll lifestyle. But don't let that put you off giving Trytan a listen.
I've heard this band referred to as prog rock, but beyond Dean sounding similar to Rush's Geddy Lee I don't see that connection. They are pure glam metal, similar to a basic Ratt or Motley Crue. The combination of vocals and music are definitely quite unique sounding. Just one question remains: What the hell is a sylentiger?
