Sgt Roxx - Push and Squeeze [1990]

Country: USA
Year: 1990
Line up: Jack Adams (vocals), Bob O'Connor (guitar), Rob Briles (guitar), Darrin Laszlo (bass), Gabriel Anthony (drums)
Tracks:
1. All You Need
2. Why'd You Lie?
3. Movin' On
4. Push and Squeeze
5. Don't Cry
6. Million Dollar Girls

Fletchanator's comment: This EP by Chicago indy glamsters Sgt Roxx is out of print and as rare as hell. For an indy release, these guys have got a polished sound - they remind me of a mix between Poison and Faster Pussycat. "Don't Cry" is a catchy ballad, and the rest of the songs are pretty good too.

Fletchanator's comment: Another one-album band, Sea Hags are a West Coast sleaze band in the mould of LA Guns, with plenty of swagger to their music and gravelly vocals full of attitude. Pure cock rock baby!

Kick Axe - Welcome to the Club [1986]

Country: Canada
Year: 1986
Line up: George Criston (vocals), Larry Gillstrom (guitar), Raymond Arthur Harvey (guitar), Victor Langen (bass), Brian Gillstrom (drums)

Track Listing
1. To The Club
2. Feels Good- Don't Stop
3. Comin' After You
4. Make Your Move
5. Never Let Go
6. Hellraisers
7. Can't Take It With You
8. Too Loud...Too Old
9. Feel The Power
10. With A Little Help From My Friends

Fletchanator's comment: The second album from Canadian rockers Kick Axe is a solid effort, without having that x-factor to make it a great album. The sound is similar to Y&T and another Canadian band, Helix - catchy, melodic hard rock. The last track is something of a Canadian hard rock who's who, with the likes of Lee Aaron, Rik Emmett (Triumph), Andy Curran (Coney Hatch) and Cameron Hawkes (FM) joining the boys for a rendition of The Beatles' With A Little Help from My Friends.

Sleeze Beez - Screwed Blued and Tattooed [1989]

Country: Holland
Year: 1989
Line up: Andrew Elt (vocals), Chris Van Jaarsveld (guitar), Don Van Spall (guitar), Ed Jongsma (bass), Jan Kosterand (drums)

Track Listing
1. Rock In The Western World
2. House Is On Fire
3. Screwed, Blued n' Tattooed
4. Stranger Than Paradise
5. Damned If We Do, Damned If We Don't
6. Heroes Die Young
7. This Time
8. When The Brains Go To The Balls
9. Don't Talk About Roses
10. Girls Girls, Nasty Nasty

Fletchanator's comment: This album right here is an underrated (and fairly unknown) gem. It's awesome party metal with a sound that mixes Def Leppard, Poison, Cinderella and even a touch of Winger ("This Time"). Plus it has one of the most ridiculous cock rock song names of all time in "When the Brains Go to the Balls". If this album doesn't get you wanting to party, then there's something wrong with you.

Vinnie Vincent Invasion - Guitars from Hell [Unreleased 1987-1991]

Country: USA
Year: 1987-1991
Line up: Vinnie Vincent (Guitars), Robert Fleischman (Lead Vocals tracks 1-7), Andre LaBelle (Drums), Chris Lee (Bass), Jeff Scott Soto (Lead Vocals track 8), Jimmy Waldo (Keyboards track 8)

Track Listing

  1. Rocks On Fire
  2. Nuke It
  3. Shocker
  4. Invinvible
  5. Truth
  6. Full Shred
  7. Wild Child
  8. Youngblood
Fletchanator's comment: You probably know the story about guitarist Vinnie Vincent, who was in KISS for a short time. After leaving that band he formed Vinnie Vincent Invasion, which released two albums - a self-titled album in 1986 with Robert Fleischman on vocals, and All Systems Go in 1988 with Mark Slaughter (later singer for Slaughter) on vocals. After Slaughter left, Fleischman came back, and the band recorded material for a third album, Guitars from Hell. But the album company went bankrupt and it was never released. This is a bootleg copy of the record, which (as you'd imagine from Vincent) has awesome shredding guitars. As a bonus the last track is from 1987 and has the amazing Jeff Scott Soto on vocals.
